Are ya ready kids? It’s about to be the best day ever because the SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake gameplay trailer has been revealed! Sporting some of the most interesting features you can imagine, get ready to take on the newest addition to the SpongeBob SquarePants gaming franchise.
Gamers worldwide will be shouting “Minoy ney hoy yoy” from the rooftops after seeing the latest SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake gameplay trailer. This game looks to be extremely promising, as you take on the life of one of the most iconic characters around.
Starting off as SpongeBob SquarePants, you will come into contact with a mysterious and magical Fortune Teller named Kassandra who has given you a precious vial of Mermaids Tears. Legends tell that these tears have the ability to grant wishes, but only to those who have the purest of hearts. Of course, no bubble-blowing-baby adventure is complete without the help of your most loyal best friend, Patrick Star. He will accompany you along your journey through the game as a companion they call Balloon-Patrick.
Naturally, as they are always up to hectic shenanigans, SpongeBob and Patrick open up those Mermaid Tears and rip apart time and space. This causes strange portals into Wishlands to appear all over Bikini Bottom, and of course, the dynamic duo must band together to save their friends who have been sucked into the portals. Little do they know, this Fortune Teller has a vision of her own that she intends to see through to the end.
There are some key features that come along with this game that is pretty neat, such as 30 costumes like SnailBob and SpongeGar that players can wear. On top of that, there are seven total Wishlands to traverse and explore, like Wild West Jellyfish Fields and Halloween Rock Bottom. The game even features over 101 songs from the TV show, such as Sweet Victory from the Bubble Bowl episode. On an even cooler note, all of the voices of the characters within the game are voiced by the original actors from the television show, which is just fantastic to those who can’t get enough of that nautical nonsense.
With the success that has come from the previous SpongeBob SquarePants video games, it’s no wonder THQ Nordic decided to close out their showcase with an announcement like this. Though there is no set-in-stone release date as of yet, you can see all of the details and even add it to your Steam wishlist all from the game’s official site.
