The Disney & Marvel Games Showcase (a.k.a. the D23 Expo) has revealed that the Marvel’s Midnight Suns release date has been moved to early December 2022.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns was originally supposed to launch on October 7, 2022. Another delay was announced in August with no new date specified; now, we finally have a new release date in early December as reported in today’s Disney & Marvel Games Showcase.
When is the Marvel’s Midnight Suns Release Date?
The Marvel’s Midnight Suns release date is now Friday, December 2, 2022. The game will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox.
If you’ve missed out on the initial announcement, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a game that uses tactical RPG gameplay in a fashion similar to games like XCOM. A key difference is the inclusion of a randomly drawn hand of cards that are used to determine your moves in combat. This card-based combat may have been a contributing factor to the decision to revamp the game earlier this year.
Players will be taking on the role of The Hunter, a new hero in this darker version of the Marvel universe. The Hunter leads a team of familiar Marvel faces (such as Wolverine, Blade, and Iron Man) in fighting against the Mother of Demons, an otherworldly entity that is trying to summon her master Chthon. (As Lovecraft taught us, demons whose names have extra consonants in them tend to be troublesome.)
Although we’ll have to wait a few more weeks to play Marvel’s Midnight Suns, we’ll be treated to a mysterious “Prequel Short” that will premiere on YouTube.com/Marvel on October 31, 2022. In the meantime, you can learn more about the game (and, if you wish, pre-purchase it for your platform of choice) on the game’s official website. Otherwise, you’ll be able to dive into the action on December 2, 2022. You can also watch the full Disney & Marvel Games Showcase on YouTube.
