The year has begun. I have resolutions but the first week was vacation so I haven’t started all of them. Monday is the big day: exercise, go to Mass, write, et al. I’m not starting with a bang and fizzling out, I’m building up throughout the year. For instance, one resolution is to go to daily Mass, but I’ve qualified that to be in the first quarter, one day a week, in the second quarter, two days a week, etc.

Another resolution is to exercise, that one I didn’t build up to. Just, effective Monday, I have to walk 30 minutes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I know that’s not anything spectacular but if I can do that in 2018 I can aim for higher things in the future. My health plan includes a gym membership so I may go to a gym and use their treadmill but I’m not sure. Baby steps.

Daily blogging is in the mix but so is writing a first draft of my autobiography. Basically, I’m going to write in 2018; not edit, just write. Get into the habit. I’m not winning any Pulitzer here but I’m writing this post. I’m making myself do it. One more thing, in addition, is to start speaking. So the stuff I write I’m going to share at Toastmasters and beyond.

Those of you who have followed me know that I am bipolar. I came up with these and other resolutions at one moment but my moods change (thus the BIpolar) and I may be overshooting what I can actually accomplish. Like I haven’t blogged in over 6 weeks but I aim for every day. I don’t know if I’ll accomplish anything but I’m going to shoot for these things. I’m not going to stop just because I fail this week or next, I’m going to keep trying all year no matter if I miss a day, a week, or a month.

Just keep trying!
